October 15, 2004- Person Arrested for DWI after 2 Hit and Run Accidents
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to the area of 220 Yonkers Ave on a hit and run with injury. Upon investigation the officers determined the suspect vehicle was involved in two hit and run accidents and fled west on Yonkers Ave. Officers from the Fourth Precinct located the suspect vehicle in the area of School Street and Nepperhan Ave. The driver was identified by the two victims and placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. The suspect received several traffic summonses and his vehicle was impounded.


October 12, 2004- Person Arrested for Assaulting 2 Officers @ Herriot/Jackson St
  Officers from the Third Precinct approached a male at approximately 9:50pm on the corner of Herriot Street and Jackson Street. The male yelled obscenities at the officers and caused a large crowd to gather. The officers attempted to arrest the suspect but he violently resisted. The suspect yelled to the crowd to assist him and attack the officers. While additional units began to respond person(s) in the crowd throw an object at the officers striking one of them. The suspect was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd degree (2 counts), Riot 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (crack cocaine) and Disorderly Conduct. Two Officers were injured during this incident.


October 12, 2004- Person Arrested for Attempted Assault/Menacing/Endangering
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to a private house on Hawthorne Ave at approximately 10:11am. Officers had received a report of several dogs fighting in an abandoned building. While the officers were investigating this incident, the below listed suspect, directed a pit bull dog to run at an officer. The officer discharged his firearm and terminated said animal. The suspect was arrested and charged with Attempted Assault 2nd degree, Menacing and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Located in the house were four small children, 97 cats, 6 dogs, 3 turtles, 1 lizard and 1 seagull. The animals were turned over to the animal shelter and the children went with CPS.


October 11, 2004- 3 Persons Arrested for Weapons Possession on Hawthorne Ave
  Officers from the Third Precinct while on patrol in the area of 290 Hawthorne Ave at approximately 9:00pm observed a parked vehicle running with three males in it. When the officers approached the vehicle the passenger in the front seat reached for a handgun. With the assist of other officers the suspects were removed from the vehicle. Recovered from the vehicle was a loaded .380 cal. handgun. All suspects were placed under arrest and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, which is a felony.


October 10, 2004- 3 Persons Arrested for Robbery and Gang Assault
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to 222 New Main Street on the report of a robbery at approximately 4:50am. The victim stated he was robbed and assaulted by three males and his watch was stolen. Officer located the suspects and arrested them. The watch was recovered from one of the suspects. All suspects were charged with Robbery 1st degree, Gang Assault, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.


October 1, 2004- Person Arrested for Burglary of the Hawthorne School
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to the Hawthorne School at approximately 1:40am on the report of a alarm. Upon investigation, the officers observed the below listed suspect leaving the school with stolen property, two VCR's. The suspect was arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Burglary 3rd degree is a felony.


September 28, 2004- 2 Persons Arrested for Attempted Burglary on Glenbrook Ave
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to a location on Glenbrook Ave on the report of a attempted burglary which just occurred. Upon arrival officers interviewed the victim and obtain information. The officers investigation led them to arrest the below listed suspects for Attempted Burglary 2nd degree and Criminal Mischief.


September 27, 2004- Person Arrested for Robbery on Elm Street
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to the area of 133 Elm Street on the report of a robbery. Upon investigation the officers located below listed suspect who was identified by the victim. The suspect was arrested and charged with Robbery 3rd degree. The property stolen during this incident was a gold chain. Robbery 3rd degree is a felony.


September 26, 2004- Person Arrested for Fighting on Elm Street
   Officers from the Third Precinct responded to the area of 108 Elm Street on the report of a fight. Upon the officers arrival the below listed suspect would not stop fighting and refused to leave the area. The suspect was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, a violation.


September 25, 2004- Person Arrested for Prostitution and Drug Possession
  Officers from the Anti Crime Unit and the Third Precinct were in the area of Columbus Park due to complaints from area residents of prostitution and drug activity. At approximately 7:20 pm officers in plainclothes were approached by a female who offered sex for money. The suspect was arrested and a search revealed her in possession of a crack pipe and cocaine residue. The suspect was charged with Prostitution and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. Both charges are misdemeanors.


September 25, 2004- Person Arrested for Drug Possession-Colombus Park
   Officers from the Anti Crime Unit observed a person in possession of 6 bags of crack cocaine at approximately 11:00 pm in Colombus Park. When officers attempted to arrest the suspect he resisted arrest. Officers placed the suspect into custody and he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and Resisting Arrest. Both charges are misdemeanors.


September 24, 2004- Person Arrested for Shooting on Riverdale Ave.
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to the area of Ludlow St @ Riverdale Ave at approximately 11:45 pm on the report of shots fired with a man down. At the scene they located a male victim who had been shot in the head. Officers interviewed a witness and broadcasted a description of the suspect. Officers from the third and fourth precinct located a male fitting the description on Stanley Ave. The suspect was identified and arrested. When the suspect fled the shooting he fired two additional shots at a witness both missing him. The suspect was charged with Attempted Murder 2nd degree, Criminal Use Of A Firearm 1st degree and Assault 2nd degree. All charges are felonies.


September 23, 2004- Person Arrested for Drug Possession in Ceratto Park
  Officers from SIU and the Anti Crime Unit had responded to the area of Ceratto Park on Riverdale Ave on the report of shots fired. While investigating this incident they discovered a male in possession of 14 grams of crack cocaine. The suspect was was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. All charges are felonies.


September 19, 2004- Person Arrested for Drug Possession on Elm Street
  Officers from the Third Precinct observed a person in possession of 18 bags of crack cocaine in the area of Elm St. When officers attempted to arrest the suspect he fled on foot. Officers pursued the suspect on foot and was able to apprehend him in the area of Maple Street. During this incident one police officer was injured. All charges are felonies.


September 17, 2004- Officer Struck by Fleeing Vehicle on Walnut Street
  Officers from the Third Precinct, while investigating an unrelated incident, observed a vehicle driving in a reckless manner in the area of Walnut St. and Maple St.. Officers stopped the vehicle and when attempting to issue summonses the vehicle fled the scene and struck an officer on the side. The vehicle was located a short time later and impounded. The officer was not injured in this incident.


September 15, 2004- 2 Persons Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property
  Officers from the Third Precinct observed two persons in possession of two stolen license plates. Both suspects were charged with criminal possession of stolen property.


September 12, 2004- Two Persons Arrested for Drug Possession on Elm St.
  Officers from the Third Precinct observed two persons in possession of 61 bags of crack cocaine in the area of Elm St. When officers attempted to arrest the two suspects one suspect fled on foot. Officers from the 3rd and 4th Precicnt pursued the suspect onto a building rooftop on Riverview Place. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect after he jumped onto 7 different building rooftops. During this incident three police officers were injured.


September 11, 2004- Person Arrested for Drug Possession on Oak Street
  Officers from the Third Precinct while conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on Oak St @ Mt Carmel Place arrested a suspect for possession of heroin. The suspect was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, misdemeanor.


September 9, 2004- Four Persons Arrested for Grand Larceny
  Officers from the Anti Crime Unit while in the area of King Ave / Harding Ave at approximately 4:30am observed a larceny from auto. Four suspects were arrested and charged with Grand Larceny, Criminal Possesssion of Stolen Property and Criminal Mischief. The stolen property (car seats) were recovered.


September 7, 2004- Person Arrested for Weapons Possession
   Officers from the Third Precinct responded to the area of 217 Hawthorne Ave on the report of three shots fired. The officers searched the area and located a male who was in possession of a .45 caliber handgun. The suspect was carrying a backpack which had another handgun in it. The suspect was also in possession of 45 bullets. The suspect was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree (2 counts) - Felony.


September 2, 2004- Two Persons Arrested for Assault on Oak Street
  Officers from the Third Precinct observed a person driving a mini bike on the sidewalk in the area of Mt Carmel Place @ Oak Street. When officers attempted to issues summonses to the driver he assaulted an officer. During the assault of the officer, a member of the crowd assaulted another officer. When assisting officers responded, the suspect assaulted additional officers. Four police officers were injured during this incident. Assault 2nd-Felony, Resisting Arrest - Misdemeanor.

August 11, 2004- Two Persons Arrested for Drug Sales and Possession
   Officers from the Third Precinct conducted a surveillance in the area of Elliott Ave @ Post St based on numerous complaints from area residents of drug sales. Officers observed a drug transaction and arrested the following suspects for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine). CSCS 3rd and CPCS 5th are felonies. CPCS 7th degree is a misdemeanor. A quantity of crack cocaine and currency was seized from the suspects.


August 8, 2004- Three Persons Arrested for Drug Sales and Possession
  Officers from the Third Precinct conducted a surveillance in the area of Linden St and Elm St based on numerous complaints from area residents of drug sales. Officers observed a drug transaction and arrested the following suspects for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine).


August 7, 2004- Person Arrested for Weapons Possession
   Officers from the Third Precinct while on patrol in the area of Oak St and Maple St. heard several gun shots. Several males were stopped and one male fled on foot holding a bulge in his waistband. Officers pursued the suspect and apprehended him and located a 9MM Smith and Wesson pistol with 8 live rounds.


August 7, 2004- Two Persons Arrested for Drug Possession
  Officers from the Third Precinct conducted a surveillance in the Lawrence St. area based on numerous complaints from area residents of drug sales/use and gang activity. Officers observed below listed suspects in possession of Marijuana. Officers arrested both suspects in front of 26 Lawrence St.


August 6, 2004- Persons Arrested for Drug Possession
   Officers from the Third Precinct conducted a surveillance in the area of Elm St. / Linden St. based on numerous complaints from area residents of drug sales. Officers observed a suspect in possession of Marijuana in front of 52 Linden St. When officers attempted to arrest the suspect he failed to comply and was charged with resisting arrest.

June 10, 2004- Two Persons Arrested for Drug Sale and Possession
  Officers from the Third Precinct along with Anti-Crime Unit Officers, conducted a surveillance in the area of Elm St. / Oak St. based on numerous complaints from area residents of drug sales. Officers observed a drug transaction and arrested the following suspects for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine).


June 6, 2004- Four Persons Arrested for Armed Robbery
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to the area of 150 South Broadway on the report of a robbery that just occurred. The victim related that four males had just robbed him of his cash and gold chain. The suspects were armed with two knifes. A descripiton was aired to other units and the suspects were located and identified. The cash, gold chain and both knifes were recovered. The following suspects were charged with robbery 1st degree.


June 2, 2004- Shooting Results in Homicide
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to School St / Park Hill Ave. on the report of shots fired and a man down. A shooting victim was located and all efforts to aid him were unsuccessful. Detectives are following up the incident.


June 1, 2004- Two Persons Arrested for Drug Sale and Possession
  Officers from the Anti Crime Unit conducted a surveillance in the Beech St. area based on numerous complaints from area residents of drug sales. Officers observed a drug transaction and arrested the following suspects for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (heroin) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (heroin).

May 29, 2004- Person Arrested for Illegal Dumping
  Officers from the Third Precinct arrested a suspect for illegal dumping debris in front of 30 Herriot Pl. The suspects vehicle was impounded.


May 4, 2004- Three Persons Arrested for Drug Sales and Possession
  Officers from the Third Precinct conducted a surveillance in the area of Elliott Ave based on numerous complaints from area residents of drug sales. Officers observed drug transactions and arrested the following suspects for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine).


May 4, 2004- Two Persons Arrested for Marijuana Sale and Possession
  Officers from the Third Precinct conducted a surveillance in the Jackson St. area based on numerous complaints from area residents of drug sales. Officers observed a drug transaction and arrested the following suspects for Criminal Sale of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana.



May 4, 2004- Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Seizure
  Officers from the Third Precinct conducted a traffic stop on Elm St. and recovered a large amount of crack cocaine. Officers arrested the following suspect for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

January 27, 2004- Person Arrested for Public Lewdness
  Officers from the Third Precinct responded to a location on Elm St and located a male who had exposed himself in public. The suspect exposed himself and committed a lewd act in front of a female and several children in the area. The suspect was arrested and charged with public lewdness.


January 26, 2004- Three Persons Arrested for Burglary
  Officers from the Third Precinct, while in plainclothes, observed three suspicious males in the area of 350 South Broadway. Officers observed the males to be in possesion of a prybar and a large amount of coins (quarters). Due to the recent rash of unsolved larcenies from laundry machines and burglaries in the area the officers continued their investigation. Based on that investigation the suspects were charged with eight (8) burglaries in the southwest Yonkers community.


January 13, 2004- Two Persons Arrested for Drug Sales and Possession
  Officers from the Third Precinct conducted a surveillance in the Linden St. area based on numerous complaints from area residents of drug sales. Officers observed a drug transaction and arrested the following suspects for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine).


January 7, 2004- Person Arrested for Drug Possession
  Officers from the Third Precinct conducted a surveillance of the Maple St/Walnut St area based on numerous complaints of drug dealing and gang activity. Officers observed a drug transaction and attempted the arrest a suspect but he fled on foot. The suspect was apprehended after a foot chase and a violent struggle. Suspect was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine), Criminal Sale of Marjuana and Resisting Arrest.
